Tours and Forums
Welcome to the information center for the Coalition’s walking tours and educational forums.
Already in 2008, we’ve toured the 14th and U NW corridor in DC and Old Town Alexandria with the Garden Club of Virginia. We had a national expert on parking policy speak to a crowd that included Councilmember Tommy Wells and taught participants in the New Partners for Smart Growth Conference about Gallery Place. Most popular was a forum about how Portland, Oregon became the model for smart growth it is today.
If you haven’t checked out one of our educational programs, we hope you’ll try out a tour or forum soon. In the coming months, we’ll invite you to check out places as different as H Street Northeast and Reston. We’ll host experts to speak about the smart growth/climate change connection and best practices for successful public engagement in community plans.
