Gallery Place, Washington, DC

gallery place

Arguably the largest private development ever undertaken in the District of Columbia, the Gallery Place project contains over a million square feet of retail, hotel, entertainment, and health facilities with nearly 200 residential units and 200,000 square feet of office space. Located next to the Gallery Place Metro and the Verizon Center, this project is a perfect example of mixed-use, transit-oriented development. If the same amount of development were built at traditional suburban density, it would cover 25 acres instead of the 1 acre it takes up at the Metro.
