A large and growing number of people in the Washington DC region are choosing walkable lifestyles — living and working in places that make it easy to get around without a car.
But sometimes we lose sight of this important lifestyle shift amid public debates about redevelopment, parking policy, bike lanes, roads and transit. That’s why the Coalition for Smarter Growth and Arlington County Commuter Services followed up on CSG’s very successful DC walkable living series to collect a new series of first-hand accounts from neighbors in Arlington and Alexandria, demonstrating our changing transportation needs and illustrating the many different ways that we go about our everyday life.
