Webinar: Reducing climate pollution and promoting affordable transportation choices

January 12 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm

Join us for a webinar on January 12 as we explore legislation introduced in the 2024 Maryland General Assembly aimed at addressing the climate pollution generated by large highway projects.

The webinar will feature remarks from Maryland Delegate Mark Edelson (the bill sponsor), as well as Minnesota Representative Larry Kraft (who sponsored similar successful legislation in that state).

Maryland adopted strong statewide climate legislation last year, but transportation continues to be the largest source of climate pollution in the state, and proposed highway projects would make this problem worse. We need a strong transportation system that reduces pollution and enables every Marylander to access jobs, housing, education, food, healthcare, and recreation – no matter where they live or how they travel.

At a time when Maryland is struggling to fund its transportation system, we need to make wiser decisions about how we spend scarce dollars.

Join us to learn about how this legislation will align Maryland’s transportation plans with its climate targets and expand access to affordable transportation choices – transit, walking, biking, and housing near jobs/services.

Learn how you can support this sustainable transportation future for Maryland.
