Contact your Congressional representative to help both DC and our region. Urge them to support and bring the DC Local Funds Act (Senate bill 1077) to a vote.

The recently passed Congressional Continuing Resolution budget effectively prevents DC from spending $1.1 billion of its own revenues between now and June 30. This affects all of us since it would prevent DC from spending $214 million budgeted for Metro. This would force regionwide cuts in Metro service. DC would also have to cut teachers, police, fire fighters, other first responders, and other public services. The DC Local Funds Act would restore DC’s authority to spend its own local tax dollars, including the $214 million budgeted for WMATA.
