Our continued safe streets efforts in Culmore have prompted a second public meeting this Wednesday! Fairfax County and VDOT will be providing an update on safety improvement projects that were announced at last year’s packed community meeting where residents rallied for safer streets in the Culmore neighborhood of Bailey’s Crossroads.

Thanks to our collective efforts, the speed limit was lowered on Route 7 this year, but residents continue to wait on many more needed safety fixes, including additional signalized crossing options on Route 7, completion of missing sidewalk connections, and better pedestrian-scale lighting.  I hope you can attend the meeting to help show strong support for making the changes needed to make Route 7, Columbia Pike, and other neighborhood streets safer in Culmore.
