Fairfax County unanimously approved a comprehensive plan amendment in July 2021 supporting the vision to transform acres of parking lots at the West Falls Church Metro Station into a walkable, bike-friendly, transit-oriented community. The county is now considering the rezoning application that is the necessary next step to make the plans a reality.
This mixed-use residential development will provide approximately 900 new homes, including affordable and workforce housing options, new bicycle and pedestrian connections, open space and linear parks, and upgraded and enhanced stormwater management, including green infrastructure. The developer has also agreed to provide a shared use path extending from the development along Haycock Road between the Metro Access Road and Taylor Avenue. This was one of the recommendations from the community West Falls Church Active Transportation Study.
Let’s show Fairfax County our shared support for a walkable, transit-oriented West Falls Church and make this happen!
